Mock Trial: The Holy Names Mock Trial Team competed this weekend in the Southwestern Ontario Mock Trial competition. We faced the St. Joe’s team in the first round and emerged victorius. In the final round against Kennedy, the team argued one of the strongest rounds in our Mock Trial history to win the Regional Championship. Thanks to our superb witnesses, & eloquent lawyers, the team will continue to the Provinicial Championships in Toronto next month. We congratulate Carly Del Pup, Jordan Shaw, Ahmad Kamel, Andrew Bassakos, Jeff LeFaive and Phil DeLuna. 2. To all of Mr. Kittl and Mrs. Borrelli's co-op students: Please remind your supervisors of the change to integration day 2. It is Wednesday, April 1 and we will be meeting in LCC. Be prepared with your notebook and agenda. Remember to submit any outstanding assignments especially PPLP's and logs 3 and 4. 3. Please be advised that the Learning Commons will be open "ONLY" to co-op students for their integration day on Wednesday, April 1st. First lunch will be open to other students. We apologize for any inconvenience in this regard and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. 4. Please be advised that the Learning Commons will be open "ONLY" to students writing the OSSLT on Thursday, April 2nd. No other students will be admitted to the LCC. The Knights Environmental Allaince will meet on Tuesday after school in room A123. 8. Talent Show.. Talent Show.. If you were planning on being a participant in the talent show make sure you have signed up. Auditions will take place during both lunches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. If you have a problem, please see Mrs. Jobin. The Talent show is scheduled for next Wednesday evening here at Holy Names. Tickets in advanced are $5.00 and at the door $6:00. The Talent show is a great opportunity to showcase as a dancer, a comedian, a vocalist, an Instrumentalist or a miscellaneous act. See you at Auditions. 9. To all choir members headed for Carnegie Hall: There is a Parent Information meeting scheduled for this Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00pm. Please make sure that you submit a copy of your passport if you have not already done so. 10. Pangaea meeting will take place Tuesday, March 31 in Rm A110. 11. Attention HNH Dance Team: There is a MANDATORY practice Tuesday thru Thursday morning at 6:30 a.m. sharp. Be on time! Don’t forget to bring any owing money to Ms. Lam & Ms. Antaya a.s.a.p. 12. Could the following students please see Ms. Simard sometime today, Veronica Beno, Ruby Jamil. 13. The HNCHS FILM FEST meeting will be Tuesday after school. All students interested in helping out or submitting a film must attend. 14. There will be a book club meeting in D258 on Wednesday, April 8th. This is the day that we choose another novel, so all new members are welcome to meet some new friends and discuss some great literature! 15. J8: To all those that have wonderfully shown keen interest in J8 this year, please attend the brief but mandatory meeting Wednesday during 2nd lunch in Ms. Bondy’s room A110. For those of you who have 1st lunch, please stop by Ms. Bondy’s room Wednesday to obtain the pertinent information. To all students interested in helping out with the Holy Names Fashion Show: There will be a meeting in Portable 10 on Wednesday right after school. 2. Do you enjoy playing video games? Are you talented in Guitar Hero? In mid-April SAC will be hosting a GUITAR HERO Tournament and the winner gets a CASH PRIZE. And that’s not all; half of the proceeds will be going towards the WALK-A-THON. So what’s not to loose? You play the game you LOVE, you win CASH$ and you donate to charity! You simply can’t ask for a better deal. Entry ballots will be sold starting Thursday for $1 at the candy cart. So get your ballot for the tournament and be able to showcase your talent during lunch for all your friends in the Cafeteria. Sports Announcements: 1. Congratulations to the Girls’ Hockey Team for a stellar performance at OFSAA in Orillia last week. In the bronze medal game the score was tied at 1 to 1 until Gwynne Attenborough scored with 41 seconds left in the game. For the next 41 seconds the girls battled against 6 players, since Paul Dwyer High School pulled their goalie to try and score. Fortunately, they did not score and the girls received the bronze medal. Brooke Siddall played exceptionally well being our only goalie. It is the first time a school from the WECSAA conference has even gone to OFSAA let alone come home with a medal. The girls will have their jerseys on today so congratulate them when you see them. The coaching staff is very proud of the team for their play and for their behaviour all week. You are an exceptional group of young ladies. Next year can only get better. The girls are informed that we have a meeting to wrap up a few things on Wednesday immediately after school in room C228. 2. All members of the Junior Girls' Volleyball Team are asked to see Mr. Hommel sometime today. 3. Attention all girls trying out for Senior Girls’ Soccer: We will be practicing outdoors today weather permitting at 2:45 pm. If it is raining, please meet in the Phys Ed hall.
