Congratulations to the Girls’ Hockey Team for a stellar performance at OFSAA in Orillia last week. In the bronze medal game the score was tied at 1 to 1 until Gwynne Attenborough scored with 41 seconds left in the game. For the next 41 seconds the girls battled against 6 players, since Paul Dwyer High School pulled their goalie to try and score. Fortunately, they did not score and the girls received the bronze medal. Brooke Siddall played exceptionally well being our only goalie. It is the first time a school from the WECSAA conference has even gone to OFSAA let alone come home with a medal. The girls will have their jerseys on today so congratulate them when you see them. The coaching staff is very proud of the team for their play and for their behaviour all week. You are an exceptional group of young ladies. Next year can only get better.
